Nagasaki, Quảng Nam to launch direct flights

QUANG NAM  — The central province of Quảng Nam and Nagasaki in Japan have agreed to launch direct flights and boost co-operation in the fields of industry, agriculture, seafood, trade an tourism.

The information was included in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the province and Nagasaki on August  一 九 during the Japan Cultural Days in Hội An.

Following the MoU, Nagasaki and Quảng Nam will focus on calling for investment from both sides to facilitate the agreement.

The two sides also agreed to promote human resource training, management and heritage preservation to serve tourism.

According to the province’s Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Chu Lai Airport is designed to handle two million passengers per year.

Nagasaki, Quảng Nam to launch direct flights

Two sea routes connecting Chu Lai and Incheon and Hiroshima have been launched to handle textiles, automobiles, logistics, exports and investment flows from Korea and Japan.

Quảng Nam Province has two UNESCO world heritage sites – Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary and Hội An City – as well as the Cham Island World Biosphere Reserve, and is a popular destination among Japanese tourists.

The latest report from the province showed that Japanese investors had poured US$ 一 一 五 million into  二0 investment projects, creating  一, 五00 jobs for local people.

Japan is the third biggest investor in Quảng Nam Province

Japanese carmaker Mazda, in co-operation with local car maker Thaco, has invested $ 三 六. 六 million in its second car plant in the province.
